From bob.oneson on August 11th, 2014
Part of UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Library's Scholar Series. Saphobilly is a lecture with amateur musical accompaniment that aims to recreate the spirit of 14 of the best surviving songs by Greek and Roman poets Sappho, Catullus and Horace. The name "Sapphobilly" was created by combining Sappho's name with "Rockabilly." Mulroy retranslated songs into short, rhymed, singable stanzas, and set them to music using simple chord progressions on guitar. April 7, 2014
